Cadillac is coming to Australia and it has rivals from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz square in its sights.
UPDATE, 29/04/2025 – We’ve updated this article with revised pricing and tweaked powertrain specifications.
Its first model is the Lyriq electric SUV, priced from $122,000 before on-road costs. The two-variant range has received a $5000 increase for 2025 and is now up from its original starting price of $117,000 before on-roads.
Orders have opened today on the Lyriq, an electric BMW iX rival with which the American luxury brand is launching in Australia.
Customer orders are now open, with deliveries to start in the coming weeks.

The Lyriq undercuts not only the iX but also the Audi Q8 e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, all of which start at just over $130,000 before on-road costs.
It’ll be sold both online and through two Experience Centres, one in Sydney and one in Melbourne.
Unlike some General Motors vehicles sold in Australia like the Chevrolet Silverado, the Lyriq rolls off its US production line in right-hand drive instead of being remanufactured locally.
Cadillac has teased more product announcements will follow in 2025. While it hasn’t officially confirmed what vehicles it’ll launch beyond the Lyriq, the company has trademarked the Optiq, Vistiq and Escalade iQ nameplates.
That suggests the brand is looking to offer a range of electric SUVs. It has previously confirmed it intends to be an EV-only brand in Australia, while globally it has set the goal of going EV-only by 2030.
