9 vehicles set fire in Karachi as dumper crushed two motorbikes
KARACHI: The unknown miscreants set fire to five dumpers and four water tankers in different areas of Karachi after a speeding dumper crushed two motorbikes in the North Karachi area of the city.
The law enforcement agencies have launched crackdown to arrest miscreants involved in the burning of vehicles.
A man was injured as dumper hit motorcyclist near Power House Chorangi in North Karachi area of Karachi, after which the mob burned several dumpers.
An eyewitness to the North Karachi Power House Chorangi accident said the dumper driver was a 17 -year -old boy.
Eyewitnesses said the dumper driver was stopped by the people and tortured him. The driver tried to flee from scene. During which dumper drive hit two motorcycles. No any death was reported in the incident.
However, a motorcyclist was injured.
Police said that angry people set fire to 9 vehicles near Power House Chowrangi and 4-K Chowrangi. At least five dumpers and four water tankers set fire .
According to police, the five dumpers were burned at Power House Chowrangi while three water tankers were set on fire by the 4-K Chorangi and one was set on fire by angry people at Baba Mor Surjani Town.
Dumper Association leader Liaquat Mehsud, while talking to media at Power House Chowrangi, claimed that 11 vehicles were burned.
He demanded to arrest miscreants involved in burning of vehicles.
The law enforcement agencies have launched crackdown to arrest the suspects involved in the burning of dumpers and arrested several people.
SSP Central spokesman said the suspects are being identified with CCTV and videos.
SSP Central said roads on the side of the powerhouse are open for traffic. He said elements trying to sabotage law and order will not be spared.
