‘Pakistan aims for long-term partnership with Huawei’

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that, in the field of Information Technology, providing technical training to the Pakistani youth is first priority of the government.

He said that while he was talking to five-member delegation of Huawei led by its CEO Ethen Sun, in Islamabad.

Shehbaz Sharif stated that the government aims to establish a strong and lasting collaboration with Huawei.

He emphasized that Huawei’s ICT training program will not only enhance IT exports but also generate job opportunities for the youth.

During the meeting, officials provided an update on Huawei’s initiative to train 300,000 Pakistani youth in the IT sector. Out of these, 240,000 will receive basic training, while 60,000 will undergo advanced high-tech training. The program is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

It was also mentioned that a third-party evaluation will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of the training programs.

Furthermore, Huawei, in partnership with the Higher Education Commission, has introduced courses in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Big Data, and Cybersecurity in 15 universities across Pakistan.
