Benny Blanco praised his fiancée, Selena Gomez, for her stunning appearance at the 2025 Oscars. During his March 20 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, he said the actress and singer deserved a medal of honor for gracefully carrying the weight of her elaborate gown.

Selena Gomez stunned at the Academy Awards on March 2, wearing a custom Ralph Lauren gown adorned with over 16,000 glass droplets and Rosemont crystals. Twelve artisans handcrafted the intricate dress, which weighed 35 pounds.

Benny Blanco admitted that getting her to the event was a challenge. “First of all, the dress is 35 pounds!” he said. “She’s carrying a 35-pound dress, and her heels are eight inches high. And then she has to stand on a bus while we’re moving because she can’t sit down.”

As Gomez dazzled on the red carpet, Blanco joked that he couldn’t match her level of glamour. The music producer paired an all-white suit with a diamond brooch instead of a tie, layering it under a black overcoat decorated with floral details. Despite his effort, he admitted he “looked like a slob” next to Gomez’s polished look.

Gomez drew inspiration from Hollywood icon Sophia Loren for her gown and even collaborated with Loren’s tailor to customize it. Styled by Molly Dickinson, the dress required last-minute adjustments. Blanco shared that her glam squad sewed her into the dress while they were on the move.

The 2025 Oscars marked Gomez’s debut at the prestigious event. She attended to support “Emilia Pérez”, which received 13 nominations and won two awards, including Best Original Song for “El Mal” and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña, according to source.
