Ishaq Dar arrives in Saudi Arabia for OIC meeting
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday to attend the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Foreign Ministers meeting in Jeddah, focused on the Palestine crisis.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has convened this high-level meeting to discuss the worsening situation in Palestine, measures to halt Israeli aggression, the resulting humanitarian crisis, and the unlawful proposals to displace Palestinians from their homeland.
Upon reaching Saudi Arabia, Ishaq Dar first visited Madinah, where he offered prayers at the Prophet’s (PBUH) Mosque.
His visit highlights Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace, strengthening unity within the Islamic world, and standing firmly in support of the Palestinian cause.
At the conference, the deputy prime minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle, according to a statement from his office.
Ishaq Dar will emphasize the need for Israel’s complete withdrawal from all occupied territories, including Jerusalem, and strongly condemn any proposals for the forced displacement of Palestinians.
Additionally, he will advocate for the restoration of the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, including their right to return to their homeland and the establishment of a sovereign, contiguous Palestinian state based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
