Karachi Inter Board seeks FIA help to control cheating in exams
KARACHI – In a bid to prevent cheating and clamp down on WhatsApp groups allegedly involved in exam paper leaks, the Karachi Inter Board has approached the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for assistance.
According to reports, the Chairman of the Karachi Inter Board has formally written to the FIA, requesting a full investigation into WhatsApp groups suspected of organizing and facilitating systematic cheating and leaking of exam papers.
The letter states that these groups are not only leaking exam papers but also circulating solved answers during the exams, turning traditional cheating methods into full-fledged cybercrimes. This poses a serious threat to the security and fairness of the examination process.
The request urges the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing to thoroughly investigate these WhatsApp groups and take necessary action to stop the illegal dissemination of exam content and answer keys. The Inter Board administration has also appealed for immediate intervention to help track and stop individuals spreading leaked papers and solutions through social media.
The letter emphasizes the need to monitor and control the misuse of digital platforms—particularly WhatsApp—during the exam period, as past incidents show various social media groups have been involved in spreading leaked question papers and solved answers.
According to the board, such activities could lead to serious disruptions in the examination system. Intermediate exams in Karachi are scheduled to be held from May 5 to May 29.
