Karachi Jam Sadiq Bridge to Remain Closed on April 19-20 – Alternate Routes Announced

The Jam Sadiq Bridge, one of the most critical traffic arteries in Karachi connecting Korangi Industrial Area with the rest of the city, will be completely closed for all traffic from midnight on April 19 to 3 PM on April 20, the Karachi Traffic Police announced.

Why Is the Jam Sadiq Bridge Closure Significant?

The Jam Sadiq Bridge plays a vital role in Karachi’s daily traffic flow, especially for thousands of vehicles traveling between Akhtar Colony, Korangi, Mehmoodabad, and the industrial zones. The bridge is widely used by commercial vehicles, factory workers, and daily commuters, making it a key route in the city’s transport network.

Any disruption on this bridge has a direct impact on traffic congestion in multiple areas of Karachi. Authorities have planned development work to improve the structure, but commuters are expected to face temporary inconvenience during the closure period.

Alternate Routes During Closure

To manage traffic effectively during the development work, Karachi Traffic Police have announced the following alternate routes:

  • Traffic moving from Akhtar Colony to Korangi Industrial Area will be diverted to Brooks Chowrangi via SM Munir Road.
  • Vehicles traveling from Korangi Industrial Area to Mehmoodabad will be rerouted to Faiz Mohammad Khan Road via Brooks Chowrangi.

Traffic Advisory for Commuters

Commuters are strongly advised to:

  • Avoid unnecessary travel in the affected area during the closure hours.
  • Follow traffic updates issued by Karachi Traffic Police through official channels.
  • Use alternate routes to reach their destinations with minimal delay.

Authorities have assured that the development work on the Jam Sadiq Bridge is part of ongoing efforts to improve Karachi’s infrastructure and ensure safer, smoother commuting in the future.
