Recent claims by a team of researchers from Italy and Scotland suggest the discovery of a vast underground city beneath the Pyramids of Giza. According to their findings, the hidden structures could be over 6,500 feet long, making them significantly larger than the pyramids themselves. If proven true, this discovery could reshape our understanding of ancient Egyptian civilization.
New Underground City Discovered Under Egyptian Pyramids
Using advanced radar pulse technology, scientists created high-resolution images of the ground beneath the iconic pyramids, much like sonar technology maps ocean depths. The study, which has yet to be peer-reviewed, claims to have uncovered eight vertical, cylinder-shaped structures extending 2,100 feet below the surface. Additional formations have been detected a staggering 4,000 feet deeper, hinting at an even larger underground network.
Despite the excitement surrounding the findings, many experts have raised concerns. Professor Lawrence Conyers, an archaeologist specializing in radar technology at the University of Denver, argues that such deep penetration is beyond the capabilities of current radar methods. He believes the idea of an extensive underground city is “highly exaggerated.”
While small shafts or chambers beneath the pyramids are possible, as ancient civilizations often built structures over sacred sites, experts emphasize the need for further verification before rewriting history.
If the underground structures prove to be real, it could challenge everything we know about the construction and purpose of the Pyramids of Giza.
